I am very glad and happy to hear that Satkhira Unnayan Sangstha (SUS) is going to release the Annual Report for the financial year 2023–2024. Since its establishment in 1982, SUS has been moving forward at breakneck speed. With the expertise and leadership of the Executive Committee and Management Committee, today it is considered one of the leading organizations in the southwestern region of Bangladesh.
At present, in 33 upazilas of 7 districts, SUS works through microfinance, socio-economic development, education and health, adolescent development, entrepreneurship development, water and sanitation, and climate change adaptation — relentlessly supporting poor and marginal farmers and small entrepreneurs for income enhancement.
Through the leadership of Sheikh Eman Ali, Executive Director of SUS, and the dedication of staff and national and international donors, SUS has undertaken various programs for the betterment of the people of the region since its inception. I wish that its caliber continues to grow and that we do more work for the welfare of the neglected, oppressed and exploited people.
